Nohayia Javed graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baylor University in 2007 with a Bachelors in Science in Neurosciences and Pharmacology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She attended American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C., where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. She graduated law school in 2010 in the top 5% of her class. Mrs. Javed soon thereafter became licensed in the great state of Texas. She went to work for a top tier law firm working for Greenberg Traurig in their intellectual property division before moving to Lynch & Davis as their Managing Attorney. After several years at Lynch, Mrs. Javed opened her own practice and successfully won more than one thousand administrative hearings, including cases against Walmart, Uber, Lifetime Fitness and other Fortune 500 companies. These activities honed her skills as a civil litigator.
Nohayia also holds the position of Chief Legal Compliance Officer for Berg Capital, a boutique investment firm and hedge fund. In December 2017, Mrs. Javed sold her law practice to a national law firm and then went to work with The Voss Law Firm, P.C. as a senior attorney. Her areas of expertise are commercial insurance litigation and personal injury. Mrs. Javed also recently became approved as an Arbitrator for FINRA. Additionally, she holds the Secretary position in the Board of Directors for GQMG Studios, a nonprofit media organization, where she hosts a weekly live show called "Life Skills". She is also a legal counselor for Poligon, a lobby group based out of Washington D.C.
Nohayia is an active member of the State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association, Developments in Literacy, Ammanah, SLCIT, ISGH, AAHOA, THLA, GHRA, SIMA, VIA, and BAPs. Before her legal career, Mrs. Javed worked as a Correspondent for Primetime at ABC. She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Houston, Texas in 2010, after graduating from law school. She loves to travel, read and cook. She lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and family. Mrs. Javed is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, and Spanish.
