Gold Coin Fraud Scheme Revealed – Man Arrested in Connection
A consumer purchased several gold coins and bars from Cory M. Robinson, 31, of Larwill, and found out that they were not actually gold. The victim had the gold tested by Bradley Gough Diamond, a jeweler, and discovered that the items she purchased were fake.
Robinson scammed the victim out of several thousand dollars through his gold coin fraud scheme. Once the victim discovered this, she told local authorities about the fraud and that the purchase occurred through a CraigsList posting. After police investigated the complaint, they decided to have the victim meet Robinson again to make another purchase.
After the transaction was complete, they arrested Robinson and charged him on multiple counts - setting the bond at $25,000.
Police believe there may be other victims of this scam. If you purchased gold coins through a CraigsList post, you may have been a victim of coin fraud. Although police can arrest the criminal responsible, they often cannot get you your money back. This is why it is important to contact an attorney who specializes in gold fraud.
