Texas Apartment Fire Injures One and Displaces Many
According to authorities, resident Milivoj Marinkovic caused the fire when he was attempting to make French fries. Marinkovic attempted to put out the fire that was flaming up to four feet. When he realized he couldn't contain the fire by smothering it with blankets, he called emergency responders.
Results of the Apartment Fire
A total of 46 units were destroyed in this Seabrook, Texas apartment fire. Three buildings collapsed, displacing all of their residents. In fact, authorities reported that there were about 100 residents needing temporary shelter. The Red Cross ensured that everyone that was displaced from this fire had clothing, a place to sleep, and food and baby formula provided.
Almost everyone in this apartment fire lost their personal belongings.
One male resident was taken to the hospital in serious condition after suffering burns to approximately 60 percent of his body.
After the fire, a section of NASA Road 1 near Repsdorph was closed for clean up, and residents were not allowed into their apartments for 24 hours until the power lines and gas were evaluated and secured.
